So why does a DJ website have a blog page?
Here, in these posts, we can talk a little more freely about who we are and where we come from. We can also give you a glimpse of what we have seen at some of the many events that we have entertained at throughout Central Queensland.

Who is Moonlight Entertainment?

My name is Dave Mills and I own Moonlight Entertainment with my wife, Natasha. She and I met online in 2016 and began running an online radio show together. I live-mixed music every week for gamers all over the world and after meeting Natasha at one of those radio shows, she became my partner, helping me host the in-game parties associated with the radio show. We became best friends. We knew we made a fantastic team and it would become our shared dream to turn our online work into something more substantial one day. 

At the time, Natasha and I lived thousands of miles apart; she was in Mississippi, USA and I was here in Queensland. In mid 2019 she flew to Australia for a visit and we decided to create Moonlight Entertainment. The original plan was for her to work from her home, helping me with the artwork and be an admin of the company, but plans have a way of changing.

By 2020, Natasha had become my wife, left all she knew behind, and we started our future together. We attempted to continue our online radio show for a time, but sadly DJing online only generates negative income. We decided then that it was time to REALLY have a go at making the company we created months earlier, a reality.

We spent time taking trips to Brisbane and Sydney, purchasing pro audio gear and lighting. We built our social media and business website, created logos, banners and business cards. We made certain all of our licenses and insurance were in order. We managed to do a few charity gigs, a few paid gigs and then… Covid 19 happened. 

Covid put a halt to our dream for over a year. But on a good note, it gave us more time to practice at home and become more familiar with each piece of our equipment. As restrictions were lifted, we were able to do a few events, attend wedding expos and make our business known to local event venues. With more restrictions being lifted, more jobs began to roll in and now we are able to make a living doing what we love to do.

Being a mobile DJ has taken us all over Central Queensland, from 1770, Agnes Water and Bundaberg, to Rockhampton and Yeppoon, to Biloela and Moura. We have played music for wedding ceremonies and receptions, birthday parties, corporate events, cocktail parties, conference dinners and even school discos. Whether we are playing in a private residence, an entertainment centre, hotel/resort, or dedicated wedding venue, we truly enjoy our job.

We have been privileged to meet so many wonderful people and are honoured to have helped them create beautiful memories for themselves and their guests. Through this blog, we hope to share some of our experiences with you.

In future posts, you can look forward to seeing photos and videos of a few of the many events we have attended throughout the region. We will also toss in a few tips and tricks about how to organize a party, choose music for a wedding and reception or choose your entertainment in general.
